This year's Titan 2 tournament began on Tuesday evening, with previous
two-time champ Brian Sutton easily dispatching Ben Foy in the first
match of the tournament.  Previous winners Jason Ley and Bruno Wolff
also advanced.  A few late entrants boosted the field above 32, but a
few of the qualifiers were unable or chose not to play in the second
round, so the single-elimination event was able to finish in five
rounds.

GM David desJardins was put out by Kevin Quirk in round 2, who took a
good 15 minutes deciding on the critical attack, but guessed right to
take out the enemy titan.  The young Richard Beyma defeated 1998 champ
Ed Rothenheber in round 1, and went on to defeat 1999 champ Jason Ley in
round 3, before being stopped in round 4 by Brian Sutton.  Meanwhile,
Aaron Fuegi defeated Kevin Quirk in round 3, and the other previous
champ, Bruno Wolff, in round 4.  So the final would be Sutton vs Fuegi.

1, which Black matched on turn 3, and then Red added a second warlock on
turn 4.
